西安交通大学文學與影視傳播研究所始于1908年南洋公学时期开办的“国文科”。1996年学校重建中文系，次年招收第一届本科生；2001年设立文艺学二级学科硕士学位点，2016年开始，在文艺学专业下，新增设“文艺批评、影视批评、创意写作、文化工业研究”4个研究生招生偏向。2019年，在中国西部科技创新港建设研究所，下设5个研究中心与1个实验室，划分是中国古代文学与传统文化研究中心、影视文化研究中心、抗战文学与现今世文化研究中心、文化创意工业研究中心、科幻与科学流传研究中心，以及语音及影视多媒体数字文化实验室。全所现有成员30人，其中教授5人，副教授16人，讲师9人。团队科研能力过硬，知识结构完善。文学所承袭“扎根西部、服务国家、世界一流”的基本宗旨，在“一带一路”战略配景下，传承西交PP电子传统，创新求变，致力于传统文化的创意转化与今世文化工业的研究实践。

Literature, Film, Television and Communication Research Institute

The Literature, Film, Television and Communication Research Institute (the Institute) originates from the “liberal arts” created in 1908, when Xi’an Jiaotong University was still called as Nan Yang Public School. In 1996, the school has re-established the Department of Chinese. The next year, the first batch of undergraduate students have been recruited. In 2001, the University has set the second-level discipline for master’s degree of literary art major. Since 2016, under the major of literary art, 4 concentrations have been added for the graduate program: “literary and art criticism, film and television criticism, creative writing, research on cultural industry”. In 2019, the Research Institute has been set up in the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Harbor. There are 5 research centers and 1 laboratory. Specifically, the 5 research centers include: the Research Center of Ancient Chinese Literature and Traditional Culture, the Research Center of Film and Television Culture, the Research Center of Anti-Japanese War Literature and Modern and Contemporary Culture, the Research Center of Cultural and Creative Industry, and the Research Center of Science Fiction and Science Communication. And the 1 lab refers to Speech and Film Multimedia Digital Culture Laboratory. There is a total of 30 members in the Institute, among which there are 5 professors, 16 associate professors, and 9 lecturers. They’ve shown strong capacity in doing scientificresearch guided by sound knowledge structure, with almost all sub-disciplines of the major covered. The Institute adheres to the basic principle of “regarding the West as the base, serving the country, being the world’s first class”. Under the background of “the Belt and Road Initiative”, the Institute has inherited the tradition of humanities of Xi’an Jiaotong University while exploring new changes through innovation.
